<p>The Handling Food Hygienically course has been designed to give each trainee a good understanding of their role as per ISO340/341/342 and also the requirements set down by the Food Safety Authority<strong>. </strong></p>

Following the sudden death of a person we know and love, people often feel the need to respond in a positive way. This could be by learning how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or use </span>an automated external defibrillator (AED).</p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"><span style="color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Cardiac first responder</strong></span></p>
<p align="JUSTIFY">According to the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) in their Education and Training Standards:</p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"><span style="color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;"><strong>A Cardiac First Response – Responder is:</strong></span></p>
<p align="JUSTIFY">A person who has successfully completed a PHECC approved Cardiac First Response course – Responder level, within the last two years. It includes citizens or emergency medical volunteers/rescuers and uniformed personnel who may be dispatched or come across the following cardiac emergencies: cardiac arrest, heart attack and foreign body airway obstruction.</p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"> <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Duration </strong></span> 1 Day.<br />
<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Assessment </strong></span> Learners will be assessed through skills demonstrations</p>

<p>We have two training rooms equipped with AV equipment; each room can accommodate up to 20 per room in classroom or boardroom layout but can easily accommodate more for briefings.</p>
<p>We also have an onsite cafe and there is free parking available. For those who wish to hold classes in Patient care / home nursing or care giving, we also have a dedicated Patient room.</p>
<p>The Training Centre can be hired 24/7 on a daily / half day or hourly basis.</p>
<p>We are a FETAC registered Training Centre.</p>

<p><strong>Patient Handling Course Description</strong></p>
<p><strong> at Guardian safety we have designed a patient handling training course that will instruct the trainees about the theory and practice of safe patient handling. with the use of techniques in relation to safe patient handling our overall aim is to reduce risk of short-term to and long-term injury to either employee or the patient . </strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This course is designed to instruct employees in the theory and practice of safe Patient<br />
handling. To comply with Part 4 Chapter 2 of the “General Application Regulation Regulations 2007, Manual Handling of Loads”, which states that staff engaged in manual handling must be given appropriate training. Safe Patient Handling techniques can reduce the risk of injury to both the employee and the Patient.</p>

<p><strong>Who Should Attend</strong></p>
<p>Employees whose work involves the movement or assisting the movements of patients with injury or decreased mobility. This course is suitable for carers and care assistants, First Aiders, healthcare workers, those working in Nursing homes, hospitals and respite centres.</p>
<p><strong>Assessment</strong></p>
<p>Theory test, followed by a practical assessment of safe patient handling.</p>
<p><strong>Refresher Training &amp; Certification Validity Period</strong></p>
<p>Refresher training is recommended at intervals not greater than 3 years.</p>
<p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p>
<p>DVD and laptop/projector presentation are used. Notes on safe Patient Handling are provided for each participant.</p>
<p><strong>Certification</strong></p>
<p>A Guardian Safety Patient Handling Attendance Certificate for is awarded to participants on completion of this course.</p>

<p>On completion of this Occupational First Aid course participants will be able to provide necessary first aid within the workplace, deal with emergencies and implement essential life saving skills (apply CPR and use Automated External Defibrillator) as required by the Safety, Health &amp; Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.</p>
<p><strong>FETAC Level 5 Occupational First Aid Course Content</strong></p>

<li>· First Aid in the workplace: legal requirements and the role of the First Aider</li>
<li>· Patient Assessment: Primary survey, vital signs, protecting casualties with suspected neck injuries</li>
<li>· Respiratory Emergencies</li>
<li>· Cardiac First Response: The chain of survival; calling for an ambulance, starting CPR and using a Defibrillator.</li>
<li>· Wounds and Bleeding: How to deal with blood injuries, how to recognise different types of wounds and how to treat them, minimising the consequences of internal bleeding.</li>

<li>· Musculoskeletal Injuries: Treatment of broken bones, sprains, strains and dislocations.</li>
