Our manual handling course is designed to cater for the Child Care industry. With this training the trainees will learn the correct lifting and handling techniques for dealing with children.

The training course will last half a day and is specifically designed for people working within the childcare industry such as nurseries, preschools, schools, day care, childminders and any other industry that involves minding children.

It is a legal requirement under section 4 of the Construction Regulations 2006 that staff working on sites or any works that qualify as construction projects under the regulations undergo basic Health & Safety training.

This FETAC Level 6 Manual Handling Instructors course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skill and confidence to design and deliver manual handling instruction in the workplace and to complete manual handling risk assessments as required by Part 4 Chapter 2 of the “General Application Regulation Regulations 2007, Manual Handling of Loads”, which states that staff engaged in manual handling must be given training in the safe manual handling of loads.

Refresher Training & Certification Validity Period

Certificates are valid for 5 years.

Special Instructions for this Course

Comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes is recommended for this course as there is a high level of practical activity throughout.

Participants are required to have a reasonable level of fitness and flexibility and this course is not suitable for those with any back, hip or knee injuries or those with any condition which may be aggravated by practical lifting.

On 6th November 2012, FETAC completed its amalgamation with HETAC, NQAI and the IUQB and a new integrated agency, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), was established. In turn some courses have been deactivated and replaced by new common awards, e.g. Food Hygiene Training, has been replaced by a new common award FETAC Level 4 Handling Food Hygienically, Code 4N1119

 

The Handling Food Hygienically course has been designed to give each trainee a good understanding of their role as per ISO340/341/342 and also the requirements set down by the Food Safety Authority

The sudden unexpected death of a loved one, work colleague, friend, neighbour or member of your local community is a very distressing and emotional situation to come to terms with. Emotions of grief are often compounded by a sense of ‘

If only I could have done something’ or ‘I felt so helpless not knowing what to do’. Following the sudden death of a person we know and love, people often feel the need to respond in a positive way. This could be by learning how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Cardiac first responder

According to the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) in their Education and Training Standards:

A Cardiac First Response – Responder is:

A person who has successfully completed a PHECC approved Cardiac First Response course – Responder level, within the last two years. It includes citizens or emergency medical volunteers/rescuers and uniformed personnel who may be dispatched or come across the following cardiac emergencies: cardiac arrest, heart attack and foreign body airway obstruction.

 Duration 1 Day.
Assessment Learners will be assessed through skills demonstrations

Certificate issued by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) and valid for 2 years will be issued to each successful student.

Our modern Training Centre located only minutes from the N7 & M50 is now available to Trainers and instructors for hire at competitive rates.

We have two training rooms equipped with AV equipment; each room can accommodate up to 20 per room in classroom or boardroom layout but can easily accommodate more for briefings.

Patient Handling Course Description

 at Guardian safety we have designed a patient handling training course that will instruct the trainees about the theory and practice of safe patient handling. with the use of techniques in relation to safe patient handling our overall aim is to reduce risk of short-term to and long-term injury to either employee or the patient .

 

This course is designed to instruct employees in the theory and practice of safe Patient
handling. To comply with Part 4 Chapter 2 of the “General Application Regulation Regulations 2007, Manual Handling of Loads”, which states that staff engaged in manual handling must be given appropriate training. Safe Patient Handling techniques can reduce the risk of injury to both the employee and the Patient.

 

Patient Handling Course Objectives

  • Conduct a patient handling risk assessment

FETAC Level 5 Occupational First Aid Training Course Description

On completion of this Occupational First Aid course participants will be able to provide necessary first aid within the workplace, deal with emergencies and implement essential life saving skills (apply CPR and use Automated External Defibrillator) as required by the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.
